German journalist Birgit Wetzel has stressed the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) in terms of ensuring a wider spread of Azerbaijani realities in Germany.

“Cooperation with the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency will contribute to increasing the German society`s awareness of realities of Azerbaijan,” she told AzerTAc Director General Aslan Aslanov.

Accompanied by her colleague David Goessmann, Ms. Wetzel was invited to visit Azerbaijan by the NGOs State Support Council.

“Cooperation with AzerTAc may contribute to ensuring the spread of accurate news about Azerbaijan,” she said.

Ms. Wetzel said she was making researches with the aim of promoting Azerbaijan in Germany.

AzerTAc`s Director General said the agency was the chair and an active member of a number of regional and international news organizations. “This helps us to ensure that news about Azerbaijan reach wider audience.” He said AzerTAc maintained cooperation with German Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) agency both in a bilateral format and within the European Alliance of News Agencies. “We carry out information and experience exchange.”

The Director General said AzerTAc was ready to cooperate with German journalists in “increasing the German society`s awareness of the realities of Azerbaijan”.

They discussed the promotion of Azerbaijan in the world and the strengthening of Azerbaijan`s position in the world media scene.
