Director of Azerbaijan State News Agency Aslan Aslanov has hailed the role of the media in enhancing Azerbaijani-Russian relations as “indispensable” as he met with member of the State Duma, head of Russia-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Dmitry Savelyev, head of the Russian-Azerbaijani Friendship Center Natalya Krasovskaya and spokesperson of the center Galina Gerasimova.

Director General Aslanov highlighted the activities of AZERTAC, saying the agency was an active member of a number of international and regional news organizations. “Working on the round-the-clock basis, AZERTAC produces news in 7 languages and video in 5 languages.”

Mr Aslanov praised the role of AZERTAC and Russian TASS agency in strengthening the bilateral ties, “sincere neighborhood and true friendship” between the two countries. “Our agencies remain committed to the principle of correct and objective coverage of what is happening in our countries and societies.”

Dmitry Savelyev hailed the organization of the Global Baku Forum. He said the Azerbaijani capital had become a venue where the most pressing issues of global importance were discussed. He praised the involvement of youth in the efforts to address global problems.

The Russian MP said Azerbaijan enjoyed growing interest and popularity in Russia, and praised the country`s tourism potential.

Natalya Krasovskaya noted the role of the first European Games in popularizing Azerbaijan in the world. She also hailed the role of first lady, chairperson of Baku 2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva in excellently delivering the milestone sporting event of the continent.

Ms Krasovskaya said she was appointed head of the Moscow office of Baku International Multiculturalism Centre, which would be set up soon.

The Director General of AZERTAC congratulated Natalya Krasovskaya on the appointment, and wished her successes.
