The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr Frank-Walter Steinmeier is paying an official visit to Mongolia. The previous visit of the German Foreign Minister was held 18 years ago, and this time Mr Steinmeier is visiting at the invitation of his counterpart of Mongolia Mr Bold in frames of the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations.
On the first day of the visit, Mr Steinmeier was received by the President of Mongolia Elbegdorj.
Mr Elbegdorj highlighted that Germany greatly helped Mongolia learn the ABC of the democracy. “Since the 1990 Democratic Revolution, Mongolia has gained a vast experience in democracy, transmitting to the market economy system," Mr Elbegdorj said.
The countries expressed their aspiration to cooperate in the economy, environment protection, environmentally-friendly technology and renewable energy sectors.
Following the meeting with the President, Mr Steinmeier was received by the Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag. At this meeting, Mongolia expressed its readiness to collaborate with Germany in pasture animal husbandry and manufacturing high quality bio-products based on fertilizer-free land-farming.
