Former president of Mongolia and current chairman of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP) Mr N.Enkhbayar Thursday arrived home from the Republic of Korea after a long time medical treatment. MPRP’s supporters and members warmly welcomed former president and head of the Party.
Before leaving the airport Mr Enkhbayar gave a brief interview to journalists regarding the rumors that he had asked for Korean citizenship. Former president has denied the news report about his seeking political refugee in Korea and foreign citizenship and has said that “I even never thought about it, this disinformation is politically motivated and sent from Mongolia”.
He also said that he is in home country for a short time to focus on the changes in the government and that he will go back to South Korea to continue the treatment. The same day, Mr Enkhbayar participated in the “100 outstanding figures in Mongolian history” talk show.
Former president N.Enkhbayar was found guilty in 2012 on corruption charges and sentenced to four years in jail. The current president Ts.Elbegdorj pardoned him in August 2013.
Afterward, he left for South Korea to seek treatment because of his poor health.
