Upon the invitation of the President of France Mr Francois Hollande, President of Mongolia Mr Elbegdorj is paying an official Visit to France. This visit is coinciding with the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and France and is highlighted as the first visit by a Head of State of a foreign country to France since the series of terror attacks in Paris.

On Wednesday, President Elbegdorj welcomed by French delegates led by Ms Martine Pinville, Minister of State for Commerce, Small-Scale Industry, Consumer Affairs and the Social and Solidarity Economy at the square of the Army Museum in Paris.

On the same day, the President of Mongolia attended the National veterinary school of Alfort near Paris to get au fait with a lab of artificial insemination. Mr Mark Goni, the school’s director, said that this lab has been working some 50 years, gaining experiences in artificial insemination of animals, and expressed a willingness to cooperate with a same organization of Mongolia. Mr Elbegdorj emphasized Mongolia wants to cooperate with France in the animal husbandry sector, in with three directions such as curing animal diseases, improving breeds of livestock, and preparing experts on animal husbandry by establishing a modern lab.
On the same day, President Mr Elbegdorj received the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Mr Laurent Fabius.
During the meeting, unique historic documents on the relations between our two countries were presented. For instance, the letter sent from Mongolia in the end of 1912 about the declaring of Mongolia’s independence and requesting France’s acknowledgement was among the documents. The French side had received this letter in Harbin in early 1913. The original copy of the letter has been sent to Ulaanbaatar upon the opening of French embassy here.
