Slovenian Ambassador Milan Jazbec has expressed readiness to support the expansion of relations between Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) and Slovenian press agency STA.
“The strengthening of ties and information exchange between the news agencies can pave the way for the development of relations between our countries,” he told Director General of AzerTAc Aslan Aslanov.
The Ambassador said Slovenia was interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan in all areas.
Mr. Jazbec hailed the recent opening of Slovenia`s Honorary Consulate in Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that it will contribute to the expansion of cultural and economic ties between the two countries.
Mr. Aslanov said AzerTAc attached particular importance to developing its relationship with STA. “We are committed to continuing the negotiations on a draft project of cooperation.”
Mr. Aslanov highlighted the history of Azerbaijan`s statehood, culture, its relations with European countries.
“Azerbaijan`s growing international prestige allowed AzerTAc to have built relations with news agencies of nearly 40 countries.”
He said: “AzerTAc today holds chairmanship and is an active member of a number of regional and international news organizations. We will host the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia Pacific News Agencies and the 5th News Agencies World Congress in 2016.”
Slovenia`s new Honorary Consul in Azerbaijan Elnur Allahverdiyev was present at the meeting.
