Mongolian pupils have won bronze medals in the 46th International Chemistry Olympiad.
The International Chemistry Olympiad that took place on July 20-29 in Hanoi, Vietnam, was attended by 300 children from 77 countries. They have competed in solving chemistry theoretical and practical problems.
Mongolia was represented at the Olympiad by four pupils, and two of them N.Temuujin from the “Shine Mongol” high school and B.Bat-Orgil from the 1st school of Ulaanbaatar have captured bronze medals. They were sponsored by the “Monkhimo” LLC. Thus, since starting taking part in the event in 2006, Mongolian pupils captured first medals.
The medalists have expressed their satisfaction with winning medals from this Olympiad and are thankful to their teachers for bringing them to this success.
The teacher of two pupils, who have won medals, thanked the “Monkhimo” company for sponsoring their students, and said that these students are now able to apply for one of the top 100 universities in the world with the governmental scholarships of Mongolia.
As the team results, Singapore has won the 2014 IChO, followed by Russia, Japan and Vietnam.
First held since 1968, International Chemistry Olympiad is an annual academic competition for high school students.
The 47th International Chemistry Olympiad will take place in Baku city, Azerbaijan.
