Thailand, again, wins most ASEAN Energy Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, October 7 (TNA) - Thailand remains the champion for the 11th consecutive year by winning 18 out of 46 ASEAN Energy Awards 2015. A ceremony to present the ASEAN Energy Awards 2015 is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday evening, as part of the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM), being held in the Malaysian capital from October 7-8. Thailand's former permanent secretary for energy Kurujit Nakornthap and former director-general of the Department of Mineral Fuels Phuangthip Silpasart also win two awards for outstanding energy authorities. Thammayot Srichuai, Director-General of the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency, told journalists, meanwhile, that the awards have resulted from the Thai government's steadily effective promotion of energy saving, renewable energy, and public participation in renewable energy.
