Iran Dissatisfied With P5+1

Tehran, Sept 11, IRNA - ˈIran Dailyˈ on Thursday underscored mutual trust-building between Iran-P5+1 as the only measure that could pave way for clinching a comprehensive deal over Tehran nuclear energy program. The English-language paper, in its Opinion column, was commenting on the final nuclear agreement between Iran-P5+1, which is an accord based on a mutual understanding. Should both sides fail to meet previous commitments, sealing of a comprehensive deal will be out of reach. Westerners criticize Iran for failing to fulfill its commitments with the International Atomic Energy Agency. But the accusation is baseless as Iran have fully cooperated with the UN nuclear watchdog at least since the government of President Hassan Rouhani took office, highlighted the paper. But the question that arises is whether the other side has met its commitments agreed in Geneva? questioned the paper. Undoubtedly, Iran is discontent with certain approaches adopted by some of the members of the P5+1 as it sees that on the one hand these members are making excessive demands, and on the other they are not committed to the previous agreements, noted the daily. Tehran feels that the other side is not sincere and committed to finalizing a win-win deal as it’s been mounting pressure on the country by imposing fresh sanctions. That’s why it feels there’s no need to remain committed to what’s been agreed upon in the past year. Iran’s dissatisfaction with what happened after the last meeting with P5+1, especially US measure to level new set of sanctions, surfaced in the country’s cooperation with the IAEA, stressed the daily. Iran was expected to meet five commitments made under an agreement with the IAEA by August 25, but fulfilled three of them, apparently in tit-for-tat measure to warn that any deal should be respected by both sides and not just one, pointed out the daily. Misunderstandings prevail and in order to clarify them, Iran and the US have held direct talks before the next round of nuclear negotiations in New York, noted the paper in conclusion./end
