Aman Palestin Organises Ramadan Aid Campaign For Syrians

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- Aman Palestin continues to raise fund for its humanitarian aid for Syrians through its Ramadan Aid Campaign, which is expected to be sent to the refugees in the war-torn country next month. Selangor state's Shah Alam branch of Aman Palestin manager, Muhd Farhan Muhd Fadhil, said the campaign aimed at sending US$497,837 (RM2 million) worth of essential items to be distributed to the Syrians in view of the coming fasting month. "We plan to send the items in the first week of Ramadan. "We are also working closely with the organiser of 'Water For Syria' programme because during our mission last winter, it was obvious to us that drinking water supply was fast becoming a rare commodity in most of the refugee camps," he told Bernama after giving a briefing on the mission to Syria at Wisma Bernama here Thursday. During their Winter Aid campaign last February, Aman Palestin distributed US$124,479 (RM500,000) worth of food, blankets and winter clothings to the people in the conflict-stricken country.
