IFCTF 2015 To Focus On New Threats In Changing Financial Landscape

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The International Conference on Financial Crime and Terrorism Financing (IFCTF) 2015 will focus on new threats in the changing financial landscape. Under the theme, "The changing Regulatory Landscape", this year's conference will discuss the balance between comprehensive and intrusive means to strengthen regulations. Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission deputy chief commissioner (Prevention), Mustafar Ali said cross border financial institutions need to respond adequately and swiftly to the threats. "This financial threat could ultimately impact the integrity of the financial system, domestically and at the international front," he said in his keynote address at the conference, here Wednesday. He said Malaysia's involvement in the conference was part of its commitment to combat trade-based money laundering. IFCTF 2015 will seek ways to increase the resilience of financial institutions to better combat the threat of financial crimes and terrorism financing. To be held from Oct 7 to 8, the conference is jointly organised by the Asian Institute of Finance and the Compliance Officers' Networking Group. -- BERNAMA
