Malaysian States To Have Special Branch Counter Terrorism Unit - IGP

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) -- A Special Branch Counter Terrorism Unit will be set up at all state police contingents nationwide to monitor and counter the Daesh militant activities. Inspector-General of Police Kalid Abu Bakar (on truck, second from right) said a total of 100 personnel, including officers, from the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism division will be absorbed to the state police contingents for the purpose. The number would be increased if the need arose, he told a media conference after the Police Day parade (picture) at Pulapol here Friday. He said the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) had been given the allocation for the purpose.
