SHC President receives Jordanian consultant doctor

Manama, May 29 (BNA): Supreme Health Council (SHC) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa received Jordanian Blood diseases, Stem cell transplantation Consultant Dr. Eyad Ahmed Hussain, currently on visit to Bahrain from May 28 till June 3. The meeting was attended by Health Ministry Undersecretary Aisha Bu'unq, SHC Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Nawakhda and other senior officials. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa hailed the Visiting Doctor programme, which was launched following directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. HRH the Premier directed the Ministry of Health to intensify to seek the assistance of renowned doctors to treat patients in Bahrain in compliance with world therapeutic standards. Dr. Hussain will examine patients suffering from sickle-cell anaemia (SCA), Thalassemia, diseases of bone marrow failure, blood cancer, Hodgkin's lymphoma, in addition to cases in need of marrow and stem cell transplantation. The visiting doctor will also meet child patients who had undergone marrow and stem cell transplantation over the past years. He will also meet private clinic patients at the Salmaniya Medical Complex over two days this week.
