Thailand Buddhist Lent weekend ends

BANGKOK, July 14 (TNA) - Thais are getting back in work mode after a long weekend to mark the Buddhist Lent cause. Crowds have amassed nearly all trains on Thailand’s northern line, especially trains from Phitsanulok province bound for the capital of Bangkok. In the northeastern province of Nakhon Phanom, the religious occasion has generated much revenue for local shops and hotels. Heavy traffic is also reported on main highways leading to Bangkok including sections of Mitraparp Highway in Jor Hor sub-district of Muang Nakhon Ratchasima district, Sikhiu district and Pak Chong district of Nakhon Ratchasima. Traffic police are trying to facilitate flows and the congestion is expected to continue all day long on Monday.
