World Islamic Banking Conference to start on Wednesday

Manama, Nov. 30 (BNA): The World Islamic Banking Conference 2015 will kick off on Wednesday under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. Around 1200 participants from the financial and banking sector will take part in the two-day conference which will explore two main issues: new realities and new opportunities. Five governors and vice governors of central banks, including Central Bank of Bahrain Governor Rasheed Al-Meraj, will be among the keynote speakers. Leading figures from the banking sector in Bahrain, Pakistan, Oman, Turkey, Kazakhstan, South Africa and Sudan will also take part alongside senior officials from Abu Dhabi Global Market, Dubai International Financial Centre, Qatar Financial Centre, The Toronto Financial Services Alliance, Luxembourg For Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in the Republic of the Maldives. Winners of the performance awards, which are granted to the best Islamic financing institutions, will also be announced. The conference will also spotlight ways of using modern technology and social communication networks in the Islamic financing sector. The event will also witness the launch of a key report issued by Simply Sharia Human Capital gate under the theme "Challenges of Human Capital-Shaping the Future".
