Italian L`indro news portal posts interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador

Baku, October 23, AzerTAc Italian L`indro news portal has posted an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador Vagif Sadigov. In the interview, the Ambassador hails religious and ethnic tolerance in Azerbaijan. “Representatives of various religions have lived in peace and harmony in Azerbaijan since ancient times.” “Ethnic and religious tolerance is promoted on a state level, and the government of Azerbaijan has ensured equal rights for all religious and ethnic minorities in the country.” The Ambassador said: “Azerbaijan is a secular and modern country, which respects religious values.” Mr. Sadigov also hailed the development of industry in Azerbaijan, saying “foreign investors have sought closer relations with the country since the 19th century.” “Azerbaijan built the first democratic republic in the East in 1918. And it was the first Muslim country that granted women the right to vote and be elected.” The Ambassador highlighted Azerbaijani-Italian relations, saying “the two countries are bound together by ties of history”. “Cooperation between our countries is rapidly developing on all fronts,” Mr. Sadigov added.
