New Anticancer Medicine Developed in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 18 (KCNA) -- The Tumor Institute of the Academy of Medical Science in the DPRK developed a new anticancer medicine. The medicine, made with Sophora angustifolia, aralia shoots and Scutellaria baicalensis, was confirmed to be more efficacious than existing Sophora angustifolia injection developed in 2008 and have no side effect. It was already applied to patients with gastric cancer in the Tumor Institute and other hospitals, proving highly effective. As it is made with locally available materials, it can be manufactured at Koryo medicine factories across the country. -0-
