Suspect case of Ebola leaves hospital free from disease, says U.A.E. Ministry of Health

Abu Dhabi (WAM): The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced that a passenger suspected to have contracted Ebola virus tested negative and has left the country. It added that the suspect, who was coming from Liberia and transiting through the Dubai International Airport, was suffering from diarrhoea that aroused suspicions that could have contracted Ebola. He was quarantined for a few days to ensure that he was free from the disease. The ministry said in a statement that the Dubai Health Authority conducted a medical check-up in line with World Health Organisation's regulations in such cases. "All preventive and precautionary measures were followed, and full medical care was provided to the passenger during the quarantine period." The MoH noted that all the airports and land exit points have been observing all necessary precautions to ensure public safety nationwide, adding that all procedures are reviewed in line with WHO norms in this respect. Meanwhile, the Health Authority Abu Dhabi said a Nigerian female child transiting through the Abu Dhabi International Airport has tested negative, and left the country. – Emirates News Agency, WAM – http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395271275393.html
