Al Hamad Praises HE Sheikh Joaan's Support to Qatari Athletics

Doha, May 05 (QNA) - Asian Athletics Association (AAA) and Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) President, Major General Dahlan Al Hamad, on Thursday highly appreciated the great support sport of athletics receives from Chairman of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani, who spares no effort in supporting Qatar champions who are keen to raise their country's name high in all sporting events. On the eve of the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Doha due Friday, Al Hamad told Qatar News Agency (QNA) he is proud that the Doha meeting always brings together a number of IAAF international stars who are eager to start their season from Qatar. QAF hosts the IAAF Diamond League meeting with great success every year, Al Hamad said, pointing out that the high level of this competition have contributed to raising the State of Qatar name in the world of athletics since 2010 when Doha hosted the world indoor championships in addition to the organization of the first successful round of the Diamond League. He called on athletics fans to attend tomorrow's meeting due to be held in the Qatar Sports Club, expressing hope that Qatari champions will achieve success and be crowned to bring joy to Qatari fans.
