CHINAG RAI, July 6 (TNA) – A former navy SEAL diver died after falling unconscious during his return from placing air cylinders in the cave.
Saman Kunan, 38, had left the navy but he returned to help with the rescue operation at the Tham Luang cave.
Thai SEAL commander Apakorn Yookongkaew อาภากร อยู่คงแก้ว said Saman was not careless in carrying out the operation.
He was given first aid and CRP in the cave but he died at 1 am on Friday.
His body will be sent from Fort Meng Rai Hospital in Chiang Rai to Chon Buri for a religious ceremony this afternoon.
The commander said all rescuers do not lose their morale and will continue their mission to extract the group of 13 from the cave. (TNA)
