HM King's support for strengthening joint GCC action highlighted by Information Minister

Manama, Aug. 1 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, has stressed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s assertion of the importance of joint work by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in order to reach the goals set forth in the “Al-Ula Declaration” to safeguard security and stability and achieve everything that benefits countries of the region reflects the royal keenness on the continuity of the GCC bloc, and the need to enhance its strategic strength and effective regional and global role in various regional issues. Commenting on the statements made by HM the King while receiving His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today, the minister said that HM King Hamad had stressed the importance of the “Al-Ula Declaration” which affirmed the GCC Member States’ commitment to the goals stipulated in the GCC Charter, through strengthening integration and cooperation among them, and confirmed the aspirations of GCC countries’ citizens for reinstating joint GCC action back to normal and achieving more cooperation and integration in order to consolidate unity and cohesion among member states, and keep away from anything that may not serve the all-inclusive GCC that everyone is keen on preserving. Al-Romaihi emphasised that commitment to the values embedded in the “Al-Ula Declaration”, which affirmed the consolidation of unity and cohesion among GCC states, non-interference in member states’ domestic affairs and safeguarding the security and stability of all countries of the region, is the best means to overcome challenges to the region, and achieve the goals that ensure more progress for GCC countries and their brotherly countries. The Information Affairs Minister praised HM the King’s directives on the need for the media discourse to adhere to the social values, and all-inclusive noble GCC traditions that strengthen unity, cohesion and common destiny among all GCC states, as well as keep away from everything that may not lead to achieving common goals, including abuses and media policies that seek to sow the seeds of discord among GCC countries in a bid to achieve goals that are alien to genuine Arab societies.
