Interior Minister is satisfied with rescue operation
BANGKOK, July 9 (TNA) -- The Interior Minister is satisfied with the success of the rescue of the first 4 of the 13 stranded Mu Pa Academy young footballers but want the rescue team to evaluate overall performance so that improvements can be made and to ensure minimum mistakes.
Minister Anupong Paochinda told the media that he was satisfied with the cooperation of all units involved which has resulted in the successful extraction of the first four of the stranded Mu Pa Academy footballers from the Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Norn caverns in Chiang Rai.
He admitted that some mistakes were made which will be corrected and immediately improved for the later extractions.
When asked when he expects the extraction to resume Gen Anupong said that the decision was up to the Tham Luang Search and Rescue Taskforce led by Narongsak Osottanakorn.
He, however, stressed that each rescue diver's performance must be closely scrutinised to minimise the possibility of loss.
Gen Anupong confirmed that the same divers in yesterday's extraction will be used as they now have the necessary familiarity with the exit route and know what to expect and do in the event of emergencies.
More importantly they would be acutely aware of mistakes in yesterday's extraction and would have made improvements. (TNA)
