Investigation of murder of a journalist
Astana, December 29, 2009 (Khabar) - Ministry of Internal Affairs established those who were involved in the murder of journalist Gennady Pavlyuk, citizen of Kyrgyzstan, which occurred on December 16 in Almaty. This has been reported at a briefing in the ministry. According to Kuanyshbek Zhumanov, press secretary of Ministry of Interior Affairs of RK few people committed the crime.
Kuanyshbek Zhumanov, official spokesman of Ministry of Interior Affairs of RK:
- As a result of the investigative and operational activities on the fact of murder on December 16 in Almaty, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, Gennady Pavlyuk, the Interior Ministry identified several Kyrgyz citizens involved in this crime. In accordance with the Kishinev Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations, signed by the heads of states of CIS in 2002, and ratified by a number of Commonwealth states, including Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, in the framework of criminal case all necessary investigations are carried out. Now we settle the issue of transferring of the collected materials and evidences to the competent authorities of the Kyrgyz side for further prosecution and justice.
