MCOT organizes activities on Children's Day

BANGKOK, January 12 (TNA) - Like several other public and private agencies, MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm, organized activities on the National Children's Day on Saturday at the Central Plaza Chaengwattanain Bangkok, in which children and youths from across the country were welcome to join. The "Modernnine Children's Day 2013" was lively throughout the day, as children and their parents had crowded the venue to enjoy the activities until the event closed at 3pm. A ceremony to inaugurate the "Modernnine Children's Day 2013" was presided over by Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Warathep Rattanakorn, during which he gave a speech urging children to be diligent and to build up their reading habit. The young visitors to the venue appeared to pay extra attention to activities which allowed them to become news presenters and disk jockeys (DJs), as participating youths in both activities also received certificates and souvenirs from MCOT, the well known operator of Modernine TV, Modern Radio Networks and Thai News Agency (TNA). Meanwhile, such Thai provinces as Chiang Rai, Tak and Ranong organized activities on the National Children's Day 2013 for disabled and other underprivileged youths, namely hill tribe and even children of migrant workersor those temporarily crossing the border from neighbouring countries.
