Meeting of republic council on fight against corruption
Astana, September 14 2009, Khabar – Attendees of the 10th meeting of the republic council on fight against corruption have discussed the implementation of the programme on the fight against corruption, which was established by the “Nur Otan” Party and solving of tasks of anti-corruption counteraction. The head of the South Kazakhstan region Askar Myrzakhmetov believes that some laws should be amended. Also, he spoke for the centralization of school accountancy.
Askar Myrzakhmetov, head of South Kazakhstan region:
- Since all schools are juridical entities and are within the statute of state purchases, there are a lot of bodies, who want to inspect them.
The head of the anti-corruption council under the “Nur Otan” Party Oralbai Abdykarimov said that this suggestion is under the scrutiny of the government. Also, participants of the meeting spoke about responsibility of heads of enterprises for infringements of their employees.
Oralbai Abdykarimov, chairman of republic council on fight against corruption under “Nur Otan” People Democratic Party:
- Every head of the enterprise should realize that then his employee was accused of bribery, he should resign. Officials, in their turn, should decide whether to accept resignation or not. I believe that officials should be responsible for their employees.
Additionally, attendees of the meeting discussed the activity of the agency on civil service affairs. The level of corruption in state offices is still high.

- Last year in November, the president criticized the work of the agency but since then they have conducted only one meeting of board.
Ali Komekbayev, deputy chairman of RK agency on civil service affairs:
- We are always implementing all tasks of the central office on time.
The council recommended the agency to strengthen the staff management and abide the law, which bans officials, who were accused of bribery, from work in civil service. Also, it was decided to create the data base with information about such people.
