Qatar Museums Organizes Japanese "Manga Style" Competition

Doha, June 30 (QNA) - Qatar Museums (QM) organized a gathering that brought together young artists who love the Japanese animation art (Manga) to showcase their creativity at a competition held as part of QM's Qatar-Menasa (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) Year of Culture 2022. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), QM's Cultural Diplomacy Director Aisha Ghanem Al Attiyah said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Japan, and the 10th anniversary of Qatar-Japan Year of Culture. The "Cultural Years" initiative of Qatar Museums organized this gathering and competition that celebrates the art of Japanese animation, in appreciation of the creativity of young artists, as well as to support their talents and motivate them to participate in the "Manga Style" competition, which was launched in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Doha, and the "Geekdom" event of the Doha Film Institute. Qatar Museums will continue to run the competition until July 31. QM invited Qatari and resident manga lovers to participate in interesting, illustrated stories highlighting the culture of the two countries, revolving around the theme of friendship, and reflecting aspects of cultural diversity that shape life in Qatar. The winners will get monetary prizes: 1st Place 20,000 QR, 2nd Place 15,000 QR and 3rd Place 10,000 QR. (QNA)
