Uganda FM Offers Investment Incentives to Qatari Businessmen
Doha, March 08 (QNA) - HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda Odongo Jeje Abu Bakr presented the investment incentives that his country offers, calling for establishing partnerships that benefit both countries' economies.
During a meeting with Qatar Chamber's First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari the Ugandan Foreign Minister touched on the economic and commercial relations between Qatar and Uganda and the means to enhance them, and the most prominent sectors in which Qatari investors can invest in.
He said that his country offers a host of investment opportunities in a number of sectors, indicating that there is room for enhancing cooperation between businessmen from both countries, and establishing partnerships that are of good advantage for both economies, stressing the leading role of chambers in both sides in stimulating businessmen to explore available opportunities.
The Ugandan Minister called on Qatari investors to invest in his country, which offers multiple opportunities in agriculture, mining, halal products and Islamic banking.
HE invited Qatari investors to visit Uganda to learn about its investment climate and review the possibility to forge partnerships with their Ugandan counterparts.
For his part Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari stressed that the Qatar Chamber strongly encourages Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities available in friendly countries such as Uganda, noting that Uganda is rich in investment opportunities and it offers many incentives in various sectors like mining, agriculture, and infrastructure.
Separately, Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman met with a trade delegation from the Republic of Chad led by President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Mines and Handicrafts Ali Adji.
The meeting touched on means to enhancing investment and commercial relations between both sides, and the available opportunities in Chad in diverse sectors such as agriculture, livestock, and housing.
Mohamed bin Twar stressed the interest of Qatari investors to explore the investment opportunities galore in Chad, noting that Qataris are looking forward to the African markets such as Chad which is replete with plenty of opportunities.
For his part, President of the Chadian Chamber said that Chad welcomes the Qatari investments, noting that it owns tremendous potential in agriculture and livestock.
Adji also said that Chad has a host of products which can export to Qatar such as meat, cotton, sesame, corm, natural gum, peanut, and salt. (QNA)
