MALAYSIA AIRPORTS BAGS TWO FROST & SULLIVAN ASIA AWARDS
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Aiports has swooped two accolades
in the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Awards.
The company was the recipient of the Airport Investment Company of the Year
Award while its KL International Airport received the Asia Pacific Airport of
the Year (Above 15 Million Annual Passengers).
The awards ceremony was held in Singapore Thursday, it said in a statement
Friday.
In his acceptance speech, Malaysia Airports Chief Operating Officer Abdul
Hamid Mohd Ali said: "Malaysia Aiports is very delighted to receive these
first two awards in 2010, and certainly this will spur us to scale greater
heights.
"The award signifies that we have performed well last year despite the
adverse economic situation, which impacted the aviation industry all over the
world."
This achievement represents Malaysia Airports' second success in the Frost &
Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace & Defence Awards.
Last year, Penang International Airport was selected as Airport of the Year
(Below 15 Million Passengers Annually).
The awards programme, now in its fourth consecutive year, is held annually
in Singapore and is looked upon by the industry as the most coveted title for
best-in-class performers.
It encompasses the airlines, airports, manufacturing, MRO (maintenance,
repair and overhaul), aviation training, defence, general aviation and homeland
security sectors.
