PRO-GOVT COALITION REMAINS SOLID :DEMOCRAT EXECUTIVE
Jakarta, Feb 13 (ANTARA) - The coalition of parties supporting President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's administration has remained solid and not dissipated despite the Bank Century issue, a Democrat Party executive said.
"The dynamics in the relations between some of the coalition partners over matters in the ongoing Bank Centurey bailout inquiry is something normal," Muhammad Jafar Hafsah, a Democrat Party associate chairman, said here Saturday at a public discussion.
Members of the coalition are the Democrat Party (PD), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the National Mandate Party (PAN), the United Development Party (PPP), the National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Golkar Party.
Muhammad who is also vice vhairman of Commission IV at the House of Representatives (DPR) said the parties in the coalition should respect the agreement they had made before the presidential election in 2009 that they would support the maintance of a strong, stable and effective government.
He said members of the coalition should not undermine the alliance or lend their support to the opposition.
Meanwhile, Golkar Party executive Priyo Budi Santoso said the Democrat party should respect the opinion of other members of the coalition as they all had the same position in relation to the government led by president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
He called on the Democrat Party not to intervere in another party's attitude over Century Bank issue since it had nothing to do with the coalition.
The Golkar Party was commited to supporting a clean government, he said.
