AISAN RACING AIM FOR BIG WINS IN LTdL 2010




KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 18 (Bernama) -- Established Japanese continental outfit,
Aisan Racing Team will make their long awaited debut in Asia's biggest cycling
event, the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) to create an impact on the flat stages of
the 2.0 Hors Class (HC) race which will be held on March 1.

Aisan Racing Team, having contested a multitude of 2.2 and 2.1 HC races
around the region previously, is managed by Mitsuteru Tanaka and banking on its
best six riders to win this year competition.

The squad will be led by an experienced sprinter Masahiro Shinagawa who was
formerly on the books of Pro team Skil-Shimano and also a former Japanese
sprinter Under-23 road champion.

Shinagawa had previously raced in the Tour of Okinawa, Tour de Korea, the
Jayco Herald Sun Tour and the Jelajah Malaysia as well as in the biggest spring
classic, Paris-Roubaix in France.

He will be assisted by his country mate Taiji Nishitani, one of the most
decorated sprinters in Asia who won the Jelajah Malaysia last year.

Other riders for the all-Japanese Aisan Racing Team are Takumi Beppu,
Takeaki Ayabe, Kazuhiro Mori and Kenichi Suzuki.

The Hors status is awarded to the host country where the races are
categorised according to standards set by International Cycling Union (UCI) in
terms of race management, the level of circuit challenge and the participation
of racers of ranking and elite teams.

The 2010 LTdL, which is into its 15th edition, will feature 20 teams
competing in seven stages, which will start in Kota Baharu, Kelantan before
crossing to Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Putrajaya.
