CALL TO AGENCIES TO HARNESS STRENGTHS TO REALISE 1MALAYSIA

KOTA KINABALU (Malaysia), Feb 22 (Bernama) -- Agencies under the Information
Communication and Culture Ministry have been urged to harness their strengths in
an effort to achieve the 1Malaysia vision.

Sabah (an East Malaysia state) executive councillor Sapawi Ahmad said the
agencies should work as a team and enhance their relations and communications
with other agencies.

"The duties of the ministry in disseminating government policies are
becoming more complex due to factors like the new media, new thinking among
youths and the different political scenario," he said at the ministry's
state-level monthly assembly here Monday.

Sapawi, who is a MP for Sipitang said although it would be an uphill battle
to make the prime minister's vision touch base with the people, the agencies
were not alone.

"With the help of other agencies, we can make it happen at all level of
the
society, especially at the grassroots level," he added.
