"BUY MALAYSIAN PRODUCTS" CAMPAIGN TO BE REVIVED

KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 (Bernama) -- The "Buy Malaysian Products" campaign
which stresses on patriotism will be revived next month or in May, said Domestic
Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Themed "Patriotic Consumers", the campaigned aimed at getting Malaysians to
love, buy and used local products, he told reporters after launching the Q292
mobile phone, an Islamic themed hanphone produced by Ad-Deen Technology Sdn Bhd,
at the company's presmises here Monday.

Ismail Sabri said Malaysians should emulate the people of South Korea who
gave first priority to products made by their own country.

"The spinoffs of using local goods are very high, among them it helps create
jobs for Malaysians, reduce dependency on imports besides helping the local
manufacturing industry," he said.

The Q292 model, which retails at RM399 (US$117), has features like the
direction of Mecca, prayer times and various prayers.
