Jakarta, April 3 (ANTARA) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) recently launched a new five year HIV/AIDS prevention program in Indonesia.
"The project, entitled 'Scaling Up for Most-at-risk Populations', is part of a US$35 million effort by the US Government to assist the Government of Indonesia in curbing HIV/AIDS transmission," said the US embassy in Jakarta on its official website.
A second project focused on NGO capacity building for HIV/AIDS is also anticipated to be awarded.
The two projects will work in combination and in partnership with the Government of Indonesia under the umbrella of the National Strategic Action Plan for HIV/AIDS 2010-2014.
Project efforts will center on eight provinces, namely West Java, Central Java, East Java, Riau, North Sumatra, Papua and West Papua, and DKI Jakarta.
