EU supports Kazakhstan's WTO entry - Barroso.

BRUSSELS, October 26 (Itar-Tass) - The European Union fully supports
Kazakhstan's WTO bid, European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso
said on Tuesday after talks with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev,
who is ending a visit to Brussels.
Kazakhstan's WTO entry will be favourable for Kazakhstan itself, as
well as for the European Union and the world on the whole, he said. Free
trade is a key element of world prosperity, Barroso said, stressing that
he intended to reiterate that at the G20 summit in Seoul.
The Kazakh president, for his part, thanked the European Union for
support. "Talks on Kazakhstan's entry into the World Trade Organisation
have continued for many years, and we are grateful to the European Union
for support. This direction develops very favourably," he said.
The sides have not specified the possible time framework of Astana's
WTO entry.
