Four children killed by UXO accident

VIENTIANE, 01.30..2012 (KPL) - Four children were killed due to the explosion of unexploded ordnance known as UXO when they were around a bonfire to keep them warm in Tamluang village, Nong district, Savannakhet province. The incident took place on Monday afternoon (Jan 23) immediately killing three children and one more kid died later at hospital. The incident also left three people injured. Authorities said that none of the victims was aged over twelve years old and one of them was just three years old. The authorities said the incident took place when BLU 26, a bomblet also known as bombie, buried underground, was caused to explode with the heat of the bonfire.
