Iran denies involvement in Bulgaria bus bombing

TEHRAN,July 21(MNA) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Friday dismissed claims that Iran has been involved in a bomb attack on a bus carrying Israeli tourists at a Bulgarian airport on Wednesday. According to Reuters, Bulgarian Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said on Thursday that a suicide bomber carried out the attack that killed seven people. Israel has accused Iran of being behind Wednesday’s attack at Burgas airport, a popular gateway for tourists visiting the Black Sea coast. Mehmanparast said, “The Zionist regime, as the leader of state-sponsored and organized terrorism that has the blood of innocent people in Lebanon, Palestine, and other countries on its hands and has been directly involved in the assassinations of our country’s nuclear scientists, is leveling baseless accusations at other countries in order to divert the attention of the world’s people away from the terrorist nature of this illegitimate regime.” He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the main victim of terrorism and regards threatening the lives of innocent people as a wrong approach.
