Terrorism is spreading in Syria, Iranian FM tells Annan

TEHRAN,July 21(MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told Kofi Annan, the UN-Arab League joint special envoy on Syria, that Wednesday’s suicide bombing in Damascus showed that terrorism is spreading in Syria and other regional countries. “The incident that occurred in Syria today was a terrorist act and shows that terrorism is taking root in Syria and the region,” Salehi said during a telephone conversation with Annan on Wednesday. Salehi asked Annan to take a strong position to prevent the bitter experiences of terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan from being repeated in Syria.
