Moscow round table on CIS trends

Moscow, 28 October 2008, (Khabar) - At a meeting that took place in Moscow involving scientists, economists, diplomats and journalists, such issues as the future of the CIS region, the role of integration processes and consolidation in the situation of the world financial crisis and the main tendencies and approaches in deciding current issues were discussed.

According to analysts, relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are totally
with the criteria of regional security. Also, the meeting participants
discussed problems connected with the financial crisis. Experts believe that
a new economic model of development where the leading role will belong not
to multinational companies or banks but to the largest regional state
associations should be established. The new, so-called post globalization
model should also be established on the territory of Eurasia and in this
case many things depend both on Kazakhstan and Russia.

Mikhail Remizov, president of National Strategy Institute of Russia:
- The large economic region of Kazakhstan and Russia is enough for the
formation of a main body of the integration group and we should realize that
today this mission is considered to be a significant trend, corresponding to
the times in which we live.
