Newspapers Affirm Qatar's Keenness on Stability of Tunisia, Interest of Tunisians
Doha, July 29 (QNA) - In their editorials on Thursday, the newspapers highlighted the phone conversation held yesterday by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani with HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied, in which they reviewed the latest developments in Tunisia, stressing that the phone call reflects the distinguished position and appreciation of HH the Amir, and the State of Qatar -its government and people- for the brotherly Tunisians, as well as its great keenness on the stability of the Republic of Tunisia.
The papers agreed that Tunisians must unite in the face of adversity and provide understandings that are suitable for Tunisia, its revolution and the sacrifices of its people for democracy, as well as the reinforcement of principles of respect for human rights and the achievement of development, noting that Tunisia, which has always been a symbol of hope in the Arab region, is deserving of the nations' stances by its side, until it overcomes all the challenges, as it has the capability to do so.
For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted in its editorial the phone call between HH the Amir and HE President of Tunisia, in which HH the Amir stressed the need to overcome the current political crisis and the importance of the Tunisian parties adopting the path of dialogue to overcome the crisis, consolidate the pillars of the state of institutions and establish the rule of law in the Republic of Tunisia, in order to preserve the interest of the brotherly Tunisian people and the stability of Tunisia.
The paper pointed out the position of the State of Qatar, which has always been clear, calling for the sound of wisdom to prevail, to avoid escalation and its repercussions, and to appeal to all parties to the Tunisian crisis to advance the interests of the brotherly Tunisian people, and to strengthen Tunisia's journey and experience, which has been worthy of respect at the regional and international levels.
The paper expressed hope for Tunisian parties to adopt the path of dialogue to overcome the crisis, consolidate the pillars of the state of institutions and establish the rule of law in the sisterly Republic of Tunisia.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by affirming that Qatar, which has strong bilateral relations with the Republic of Tunisia -its government and people- will always be supportive of the country, especially in light of the current developments, based on its belief in the capability of the Tunisian parties to overcome all obstacles, as Qatar always looks forward to maintaining Tunisia's stability, as well as achieving the aspirations of its people for further progress and prosperity.
In its editorial, Al-Watan daily referred to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's telephone conversation with HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied on Wednesday evening, during which HH stressed the need to overcome the current political crisis and the importance of the Tunisian parties adopting the path of dialogue to overcome the crisis, consolidate the pillars of the state of institutions and establish the rule of law in the sisterly Republic of Tunisia, in order to preserve the interest of the brotherly Tunisian people and the stability of Tunisia.
HE the Tunisian President expressed thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for Qatar's supportive position for the aspirations of the Tunisian people and its constant stand by Tunisia, the paper added.
The paper underlined that the Qatari-Tunisian relations are close and strong, noting Qatar's keenness on Tunisia's stability and security and the well-being of its people.
The State of Qatar was one of the first countries to call on Tunisian parties to prevail voice of wisdom and avoid escalation, through a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which it called on all parties to the crisis to uphold the interests of the brotherly Tunisian people, prevail the voice of wisdom, and avoid escalation and its repercussions on Tunisia's march and experience, which won respect at the regional and international levels, the paper said.
In conclusion, Al-Watan affirmed that the telephone conversation between HH the Amir and HE President of Tunisia is based on Qatar's great keenness on the necessity of resolving the crisis with wisdom, consolidating the foundations of the state of institutions, establishing the rule of law in the Republic of Tunisia, achieving the aspirations of brotherly Tunisian people, and preserving Tunisia's stability and security.
In turn, Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial on Thursday that the current political crisis in Tunisia will not weaken the determination of Tunisians who are eager to build their country on the foundations of justice, equality and respect for human rights.
The paper said that Qatar is fully confident that the Tunisians are able to overcome the crisis as they did previously when they set the most wonderful examples in preserving their country, its societal peace and its gains.

The paper referred in this regard to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which expressed Qatar's hope that the Tunisian parties would follow the path of dialogue to overcome the crisis, consolidate the foundations of the institutions and establish the rule of law in the country.
The paper expressed hope that Tunisia and its leadership, political parties, and people will overcome the stage and reach understandings that achieve the interests of all Tunisians, and overcome all adversities by giving voice to reason and wisdom and adopting dialogue as a way to solve crises and political dilemmas.
In conclusion, Al-Raya stressed that there is no way for Tunisians but to unite in the face of adversity, present understandings for democracy, promote principles of respect for human rights and achieve development. (QNA)
