Kazakhstan introduced its human rights action plan at OSCE meeting

Warsaw, October 05, 2009, Khabar - Kazakhstan has given a presentation of its action plan regarding human rights as the project was introduced by Kazakhstan’s delegation at an annual meeting of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights based in Warsaw.
The development of the action plan was begun in 2005 on the initiative of the Human Rights Commission and the Republic’s President. The document is designed to be fulfilled before 2012 and stipulates the improvement of human rights laws, the national system of human rights protection along with an increase in the level of knowledge of the population about their rights protection mechanisms. The action plan was made by a task force featuring officials from state bodies and NGO’s.

Tastemir Abishev, secretary, Human Rights Commission under President of Kazakhstan:
- The base report was designed and presented in 2007 and was used as the basis for the development of this national action plan. Moreover, some NGO materials were used as well.
