PREMIER MEETS MEDICAL OFFICIALS

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister S.Batbold received Monday some officials of medical sector in the Ministry of Health. The Premier mentioned that a country's competitiveness is determined by development of a healthy person. Then he expressed his opinions and position on promoting health and competitiveness of the Mongolians.
The Premier emphasized that Mongolia's health sector has urgent problems although it has gained many successes and achievements. Asd he considers, the most important way of getting achievements in the health sector is to make complex reforms in accordance with certain purpose and system.
The Prime Minister ordered the Health Minister to work out a draft amendment to the law on health for ensuring mutual connections between health organizations in the city and in provinces, and to have discussed by the government. He said there is a requirement to refine upon a system of hospitals in Ulaanbaatar and to create a system of preventing illnesses instead of trying treating people after they get ill.
S.Batbold warned the officials that an uncontrolled usage must be stopped of biologically active supplementaries being imported through network service, and that an attention is to be paid to creating related legal environment for this. Batbold ordered them not to allow a medicaments price boost in times of pandemic or disasters and to promote national medicine production based on traditional medicine.
"More than 30 thousand people spend huge money for having treatment and diagnosis abroad a year. It must be stopped. Mongolia should establish own treatment and diagnosis centers at foreign loans and assistance," said Batbold, and added that the government is ready to promote this work. He ordered the officials to tackle these issues by setting up a working group who would change the financial system of health sector, strengthen health insurance and create legal environment.
After the Premier, online-connected doctors of the National Research Center of Traumatology, 3rd United Hospital, National Research Center for Mother and Infant and National Research Center of Infectious Diseases spoke about heir works and expressed opinions on the urgent problems.
