Mongolian government has informed the Japanese side about the completion of required documentations for launching into force effectiveness of the Economic Partnership Agreement.
On Friday, Head of Government Secretariat Mr S.Bayartsogt handed the official note to Mr M.Kikuchi, Charge d’affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.
The Prime Minister of Mongolia Mr Ch.Saikhanbileg and the Prime Minister of Japan Mr Shinzo Abe signed the Economic Partnership Agreement in Tokyo on February, 2015, which was ratified later by parliaments of the two countries.
As required, prior to the implementation of the EPA the State Great Khural (parliament of Mongolia) approved on February the amendments to the Law on Excise Tax and the parliamentary resolution on designating amounts of customs duty on imported goods.
The EPA with Japan is opening the door for Mongolia to the regional economic integration.
By the way, Japan has EPAs with 14 countries and is working to launch economic partnerships with 7 other countries including Mongolia.
