Maitreya ceremony was held at the Gandantegchinlen monastery, the center of Mongolian Buddhism. The annual ceremony which is organized in the last month of Spring, according to the Lunar Calendar, is a ritual for receiving teacher’s wisdom for all the faithful. As explained in Buddhism, Maitreya is the fifth of the thousand gods to come in the future, in other words the Future Buddha. The ceremony is held in order to near the timing of Maitreya to arrive.
