Indonesian President Showcases Infrastructure Projects to ASEAN Media

Palm Springs, California, USA, Feb 16 (Antara) - President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), showcased a number of infrastructure projects which are being built in Indonesia to a number of ASEAN countries at the US-ASEAN summit. President Jokowi, who was in Palm Springs Monday morning local time, provided time to the ASEAN media for a dialogue. On the occasion, the President explained a number of infrastructure projects which are being built in Indonesia. President Jokowi also explained the economic package volumes one to ten which have been launched and implemented from September 2015 to February 2016. "We focus on the infrastructure and deregulation. As a former businessman I agree on deregulation," he said. The total government spending on infrastructure in 2015 amounted to US$ 23 billion, up by 61 percent compared to 2014, the President said. "I show you some of the infrastructure projects in Indonesia, including the Trans Sumatra Highway for which the construction has started last year," he said. In addition there are construction projects of irrigation, Priok seaport, Kuala Tanjung seaport, MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) in Jakarta, and Trans Sulawesi Railways, in addition to Indonesia-Malaysia Border Road in Kalimantan, Indonesia-Papua New Guinea Border Road in Papua, and the power generation of 35,000 MW. ***3***
