MCOT “C-SPACE” to support new media SMEs

BANGKOK, November 30 (TNA) - MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a most established Thai media firm running TV Channels MCOT HD (30,14), MCOT Radio Networks, online news and information services and Thai News Agency (TNA), will launch its new Creative, Content and Communication (C-SPACE) Project, under which emerging media small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country are welcome to present their programs, some of which may be introduced abroad in the future. MCOT President Kematat Paladesh announced the C-SPACE Project on November 29 as part of the company's new business strategies in 2019, themed "MCOT:The Difference", aimed to promote the equal access to accurate, timely and constructive news reports and documentaries, as well as varieties of information and data in order to upgrade the quality of life of people in the Kingdom. Kematat said under the project, MCOT will work together with the company's business allies to provide opportunities for the emerging media SMEs to present their programs on the C-SPACE, with the production of their content to be sponsored by MCOT. Besides, MCOT will play its coordinating role to connect the emerging media SMEs with the other major financial source, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SMEs Bank), to fund their content production. According to the MCOT president, the company also plans to join forces with such telecom partners as AIS and True to launch its new commercial Ving MCOT Broadband on the 2600 VDO Streaming (the 2600 MHz digital wave) early next year, in which independent media operators of all sizes are welcome to present their own content, if its test run period in December 2018, when independent media operators are welcome to first present their content free of charge, is considered successful. The company's new direction, announced on Thursday by the MCOT president, includes three new business strategies, under the theme "MCOT:The Difference", namely THE AUDIENCES, focused on specific targeted groups of audiences, THE VIEWERS, focused on comprehensive online consumers, and THE PARTNERS, focused on selected business allies.
