Russia may take part in transport infrastructure development projects in Kuwait - Russian Minister of Transport

SOCHI, November 10. /TASS/. Russia may take part in transport infrastructure development projects in Kuwait, Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov said in Tuesday. "We expect our capabilities, primarily capabilities of Russian Railways, may be used in development and implementation of railway infrastructure projects in the territory of Kuwait," the minister said. At the same time, investors from Kuwait may participate in construction of airports, ports and railroads in Russia, Sokolov said. "We expect Kuwaiti investors may take part in implementation of our transport projects and transport infrastructure development projects through instruments available in Russia, for example, the Russian Direct Investment Fund," the minister said. "We have already prepared a huge package of such projects: development of roads, development of port infrastructure, construction of new airports and railway infrastructure," Sokolov added. The Russian Ministry of Transport is also ready to discuss establishment of direct air traffic to Kuwait, the minister added. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to hold talks with the Emir of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Sochi on Tuesday, the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said earlier. "Priority will be given to broader cooperation in commerce," the Kremlin’s representative said. "An expansive exchange of opinions on pressing international issues and particularly on the Middle East and North Africa has been scheduled, too," Peskov said. Read more
