Thailand joins ASEAN Energy Ministers Meeting in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, October 7 (TNA) - Thailand participates in the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM), which is held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, from October 7-8, aimed to promote clean coal technologies in the region. Concerned ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the 33rd AMEM were discussing energy cooperation in the region from 2016 to 2025, with its goals also including a cut in energy consumption, the promotion of renewable energy and support for multilateral trade in electricity, along with the application of clean coal technologies. The meeting also includes the annual presentation of ASEAN Energy Awards. (TNA)
