Iran Among Top 20 Countries In Producing Medical Knowledge

Tehran, Jan 6, IRNA – Deputy minister of health, treatment and medical education said on Sunday Iran is among the top 20 countries in the field of generating medical knowledge. Amir Mohsen Ziaei said that Iran ranks 18th in the field among 238 countries in the world, citing international credited scientific websites. Addressing the first seminar of Iranian expatriate students, he added that although Iran lags behind Turkey in terms of number of medical science articles, it stands first in view of growth rate in the field. Putting Iranˈs position in producing dentistry knowledge at 17th in the world, he said that 41 percent growth has been made in the countryˈs dentistry students population in the past five years. Hosted by Sharif University of Technology, the one-day confab of Iranian expatriate students attended by 200 students from 30 countries ended late Sunday./end
