MP says “energy diplomacy” helps foil oil sanctions

Tehran, IRNA – A lawmaker at Majlis (Iranian Parliament) said here that “energy diplomacy” is a strategy for foiling the oil sanctions; and the Islamic Republic’s good diplomacy has turned the country into a shareholder of regional and ultra-regional refineries in South America. Iran has also reached final agreement with Russia on a gas swap, Qassem Sa’edi told IRNA in an interview. Now, the European countries which were after the United States to impose sanctions against Iran are in need of the Islamic Republic to meet their shortage of energy as Tehran could attract their attention through its soft and ultra-regional diplomacy, Sa’edi, who is a member of Majlis energy commission, noted.
