President Raisi says sanctions cannot stop Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Wednesday that “sanctions did not and will not stop us in any way”. Speaking during a meeting in Tehran with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, President Raisi said that increased US hostility towards the Islamic Republic of Iran is as a result of Iran’s growing power. Referring to his meeting with the Belarusian president on the sidelines of an SCO meeting in Samarkand, the Iranian president urged the need for speeding up the implementation of the agreements reached between the two countries. He also touched upon the high potential for cooperation between Tehran and Minsk and said that both countries are resolved to give a boost to relations. The president noted that one way to thwart sanctions is to expand relations between independent states. The Belarusian foreign minister, for his part, said that his country is resolved to implement already reached agreements with Iran.
